Dear Sister / Brother:

RAINS AT THE BABUJI MEMORIAL ASHRAM, MANAPAKKAM, CHENNAI, INDIA
Report by Br. S. Prakash, Ashram Maintenance Manager, Babuji Memorial Ashram, Manapakkam, Chennai, India
6th November 2006

Manapakkam and Chennai, in the last 2 weeks, experienced very heavy rains. The "Sahaj River" flowing through the ashram (carrying the excess water from the nearby Villages into the Adyar River) was brimming. There surely was a flood threat in and around Manapakkam area. Fortunately the rains have relented in the last few days, flowing water level in "Sahaj River" has come down to just about a foot and life is limping back to normalcy, though more rains are forecast in the coming weeks. Manapakkam travelers are still requested to come prepared for rainy days, if they intend arriving in the next couple of weeks.
